Today i was stuck at trying to understand how a blog works. i'm frustrated as i could have been doing some photography, but instead i'm going back and forth on a computer. i'm starting to feel that this is going to be a problem as it is time wasting its like watching tv but without the relaxation. a major stone in my shoe.
The image above was taken in devon and i quite frankly can't name close to which village it was. all I can say is that i was driving at a reasonable speed when i saw this beauty. I only had time to look in the rear view mirror for traffic and stop on the road. As i do. I shot a few frames handheld, first without the flowers in the foreground and then with the three grounds: fore, mid and background to have the eye running through the frame i have to say that i was lucky to have the flowers close by, otherwise it would have been another waste of hard drive space. i also tried a landscape format shot but somehow i don't seem to manage to frame landscape orientation as i do portrait .
The sun was high at the time and it was good that managed to eliminate the haze on photoshop.
I shot it at f/11 on aperture priority with the shutter at 1/80 of a sec with a d200 complete with the 18-200mm vr lens at 29mm. The vibration reduction was on and the iso was set at 100. i didn't manage to use a grad nd as i couldn't find where i had left it.
The image was slightly pushed on photoshop some minor desaturating and darkening on the ocean and far end land to reduce the mid afternoon haze. Some increase on the reds not much. some yellow as well to warm the grass a bit. et voila !
