Today I shot a set of 3 frames for project 2 of my course. Images: 1, 2, and 3 of the same subject with the focus set on different parts of the frame. The frames where shot on a pedestrian bridge in Pease Pottage, Crawley at around 20:00. The sky was clear and the sunset was dull. The temperature during the day was around 23 celsius. The frames were shot in aperture priority at f/4.8 with shutter speeds of 1/20 of a second. The camera was a nikon d200 matched with a nikon nikkor 18-200mm vr lens at 52mm with the sensitivity set at 100 iso.
I find i that of the 3 frames the image 1, with the focus focused the furtherest is the most natural looking maybe because of the close proximity of all the elements in the frame. But the image with the closest focal point is the one that draws more attention not only to the focal point where it is focused. But to the image in itself. the image is more interesting and unusual. for those reasons I prefer image 3.
